Project Goal:
Create a Denodo data virtualization layer (that integrates all enterprise data
across disparate systems, manages the unified data, and delivers it to business users
in real time) to support the data access needs of the Quality department at Illumina.
Results:
- Replicated and tested hundreds of views from legacy systems into Denodo
virtual databases - Made architectural recommendations and optimization recommendations
based on industry best practices exceeding expectations - Created a repository of system views, intermediate views, and business views
that can be leveraged by developers to answer future Illumina quality
questions not yet asked
Significance:
- Engineers, analysts, and other quality data users have access to real-time
quality data including up-to-date non-conformances, corrective actions,
complaints, audits, and more - Analysts and developers have the foundation and means to create new dashboards
and reports using validated data without needing to worry about
the complications of underlying data source connections
